Size Matters! Measurement helps solve nanoparticle toxicity challenges

An article in the July 2012 edition of Chemistry International describes research being carried out at LGC, the UK’s designated National Measurement Institute for chemical and biochemical measurement, to develop analytical methods that enable accurate element quantitation and rapid size characterisation of nanoparticles in consumer products.

It also explains how researchers are developing a prototype panel of nano reference materials characterised for their properties in physiologically relevant systems so they can be applied as calibration standards in routine testing procedures.
